MHA #6, Thursday Evening - PARTY!
Liam and Verity had decided to celebrate the whole 'officially moving in together' with a housewarming of sorts. Never mind that even before the rest of his stuff had made it over there, Liam had basically been living at the apartment in practice if not in name. Look, they wanted to throw a party, they were throwing a party. 'Housewarming' was just a convenient excuse.
The weapons that usually were strewn about the apartment had all been stashed in the bedroom, and there was a good selection of food and drinks (both alcoholic and non) laid out on the kitchen table. They might be in debt to the various restaurants in Fandom for providing the spread, but no one wanted to nosh on Verity's "leftover Chinese food fajita specials." The mice had even been bribed with a selection of the appetizers to stay away from the table of food. (They had not, however, been expressly forbidden from trying to convince anyone to give them food once it had left the table, so... fair warning.)
Coats go in the spare room and please don't touch the Barbie Dream House. Unless invited to by the mice, of course.
[ooc: up early for SP because things like timezones and work get in the way. open to all friends, neighbours, ex-housemates, coworkers, friends-of-friends, etc. basically, if you're an adult you got an invite.]

Re: Arrive & Mingle!
Those mice who were micing were getting yet another strange look. Yes, from the large green man who was slowly cultivating a set of tusks and some magic powers.
"Huh," he mused. "That's a new one to me. They talk?"
A pause.
"Obviously they talk."
Another pause.
"Is that normal?"
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
"Religious talkin' mice," Fjord echoed. "You know, if I wasn't already in the habit of being occasionally mugged by raccoons, I'd start worrying that I hit my head too hard yesterday on the shelving at work."
In fairness, he was still not completely ruling that one out.
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
There was, in fact, a pretty healthy goose-egg there! Fjord cleared his throat, and then shrugged a bit and smiled wryly.
"Was startled while crouched under a shelf yesterday, was all," he explained. "Loud noise, I jumped."
There had been stars. And a rabbit.
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
... Not that Liam would've minded doing so, just. Maybe not in a room full of people where half of them were friendly acquaintances at best?
"Sounds like the opposite of a good time," he offered sympathetically instead. Not that hitting one's head generally was a good time, of course.
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
"It wasn't great. I almost managed to forget about it before too long, at least," Fjord noted.
... Because he'd been landed on by a naked Amaya. Which he was not sharing.
"I have a hard head," he said, instead. Because gods, what was his mouth even doing, the traitor.
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
"Yeah?" Liam said, concerned frown not going anywhere anytime soon, apparently. "Does this... happen a lot?"
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
"... What, me hitting my head on things? I mean," Fjord blinked, "I try not to make it a habit or anything."
His thumb also looked a little bit like hell, what with how he'd been swinging a hammer around while distracted later that day.
Oops?
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
... He was concerned anyway, shh. Because yeah, he'd noticed that swollen thumb as well.
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
These injuries were so much smaller than so many things Fjord was going to suffer from in his future!
"It'd be a pretty stupid habit," Fjord pointed out. "Yesterday was just, ah... distracting."
No big!
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
Fjord's mouth opened. And then closed. And then he opened it again. And then kind of coughed. And smiled weakly.
"I was thinking about a dragon in a supply closet?"
Fjord that almost sounded like innuendo and it was untrue.
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
He didn't know what genders Fjord was into, if any at all, but all the female dragons he'd met had resembled conventionally-attractive human women. Thinking about making out (or beyond) with one of them in a supply closet wasn't, he supposed, totally ludicrous.
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
... Like, an actual blink. A very emphatic one from the golden-eyed half-orc having this conversation right now. He couldn't use the blink spell yet, but man, when he could, getting out of conversations like this would be so much easier.
"Ah... No. No we were not," he said, sounding maybe the faintest bit strangled. "Wednesday. Last week Wednesday. Literal dragon in the actual supply closet."
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
Because nope. Really hadn't been.
"I, ah, I'm not really into giant reptiles that way."
But no, really, he'd have so many ways to get out of conversations like this one in a hurry, but not today. Today, the universe was against him, personally.
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
...
The dragon was not.
"I was repairing the supply closet door after it got blown all to shit last week Wednesday," he added. Helpfully. Because Wednesday had definitely been a thing.
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
... Which was probably for the best, because if Robert Bullard had made any surprise appearances last week, Liam might not have felt up to hosting this party.
Re: Arrive & Mingle!
"Wasn't a great time."
Fjord had sort of spent most if it alternating between attacking shit and drowning.
"No clue what the hell most of it was about. Mostly I'm just happy it's over now, I think."
Because of the aforementioned drowning.
