MHA #6, Monday Morning
After a couple of weird and busy weekends, in that order, it had been nice to have one that was just... normal. As normal as Fandom ever gets, anyway. So, you know. Nice, normal weekend, and hopefully a nice, normal week following it...
The weird thing, though, was that Liam was sleeping in. Really sleeping in, and not his usual "woke up and went for a run and then crawled back into bed to snuggle" or "woke up and read for a few hours", either. Genuine, honest-to-god, asleep sleeping in. Which was definitely the first clue that something was amiss, because that only ever happened on those weekends. You know the ones.
Except this was a Monday. And everyone knew the weird shit didn't happen on Mondays (unless the island was hopping through various alternate realities, of course.). So Liam could possibly be forgiven for not having any idea that anything was strange just yet, sleepily reaching for Verity to pull her in closer.
[ooc: for the girl. you know the one. and soooo much SP because work is a butt.]

He'd been about to say that he had all his mother's memories, but that felt, uh. Weird to bring up right now. Considering.

"That's fair," Verity said. "I just - it would make more sense if I were freaking out about bodies, exactly."

"So what's the part that does freak you out? Because if it's 'trying something unfamiliar' need I remind you of how I turned non-corporeal the first time we tried to go any further than kissing?"

Verity had to chuckle at the memory. "Fair enough," she said. "...I kinda feel like I did when the kids first showed up."

He tilted her face back towards his for a slow, gentle kiss. "And as curious as I am, I'm not interested in pushing you towards anything you're not ready for."

She stopped as she realized that she'd finally hit at the core of what was bothering her. "You're you. And I told you that so long as you were you, I'd never falter. But here, I'm stumbling, at least, and it's over such a stupid thing." She laughed, shaking her head.

"We'll go as far as you're comfortable with," Liam said. "I'll follow your lead." Which was not at all different from how they usually did things. Hell, it was the way Liam preferred it, and Verity knew it.

Mind made up, she turned to Liam and deliberately kissed him, slow and deep.

This was Liam, the person whose heart she'd fallen for, not just his body.
Her next kiss was filled with hunger

Someone she could fail in front of.
That realization was almost as heady as his mouth on hers, his hands, more slender and delicate than normal clasped with hers.
She slid her leg between his thighs.
