MHA #6, Monday Morning
After a couple of weird and busy weekends, in that order, it had been nice to have one that was just... normal. As normal as Fandom ever gets, anyway. So, you know. Nice, normal weekend, and hopefully a nice, normal week following it...
The weird thing, though, was that Liam was sleeping in. Really sleeping in, and not his usual "woke up and went for a run and then crawled back into bed to snuggle" or "woke up and read for a few hours", either. Genuine, honest-to-god, asleep sleeping in. Which was definitely the first clue that something was amiss, because that only ever happened on those weekends. You know the ones.
Except this was a Monday. And everyone knew the weird shit didn't happen on Mondays (unless the island was hopping through various alternate realities, of course.). So Liam could possibly be forgiven for not having any idea that anything was strange just yet, sleepily reaching for Verity to pull her in closer.
[ooc: for the girl. you know the one. and soooo much SP because work is a butt.]

"I mean, umm, no?" she stumbled. "I'm not? Not usually anyway. You worried about this affecting us?"

She was a little thrown by all of it, to say the least.
"Doesn't mean I'm not willing to try?"
no subject
"Okay," he said, with a deep breath, the anxiety that had been curling in the pit of his stomach disappating a little. "So, um. About that tea, then?" he asked hopefully.
no subject
Which wasn't how he made his tea at all but damn if she wasn't going to tease him a bit now that she knew he wasn't about to fall into a crisis.
no subject
"Don't you dare!" he called out as she swanned out of the room.

She filled the kettle and put it on to boil and then decided that waking up in the wrong body - even while seemingly okay with it - deserved breakfast in bed. Real breakfast, even. Verity grabbed a few of the eggs in the fridge (her fridge had eggs in it! And they were fresh! Still something to marvel at) and pulled out the pan to cook them up just the way Liam liked.
The tea had just about finished steeping by the time the eggs were done and so it was with plate and teacup in hand that Verity returned to the bedroom. "Chinese fajitas for breakfast!" she announced.
no subject
"Please tell me you're joking," he demanded. Goddamnit, he'd worked so hard to banish that abomination from their household!
no subject
Which was when she set the plate of eggs - just eggs, no Chinese leftovers or fajitas in sight - down in front of him with a grin that could only be referred to as 'shit-eating.'

The important thing was that it was Liam, after all.

...Probably not. What the hell kind of sentence was that, Price?

And after a summer where that wasn't true, it was kind of hard to get all excited over a change that was purely physical.

She wasn't ready to push Liam down and ravish him, but she wasn't having any kind of heterosexual freakout either.

"And it's not like the times we were kids, either," where he'd also arguably been himself. But those experiences had definitely been unsettling. Definitely fun, at times, but underneath it had been this feeling that something hadn't been right.

Afterwards, who knew?
But still, even if she couldn't offer hot'n'heavy makeouts right now, she could give her boyfriend the other thing he loved a lot. She slid her hand up into his hair - longer than hers right now - and started massaging his scalp. "Just remember, it'll probably be a little weirder when you start moving around," she warned. "So don't go too fast, okay? I speak from experience."
no subject
“Love you,” he mumbled around a mouthful of eggs. “So you know.”

Was Verity pouting? Verity was pouting.
